How to know if a cosmetic has not been tested on animals?

Is a cruelty-free cosmetic the same as a vegan one?
Before getting fully into cruelty-free cosmetic brands, let’s make a little clarification. Cruelty-free is not the same as vegan. The first means that the brand has not tested anything on animals and the second, that it is vegan,
which we can also see on the label, means that it does not include products of animal origin of any kind and that it has not involved animal suffering. Therefore, a vegan cosmetic will be cruelty-free; however, a cruelty-free product may not be vegan because it includes, for example, eggs in its formula.
